DEALS GAP DRAGON RUN
26 - 29 August 2005
On my 10th birthday I stopped believing in fairytales. So at 30 when
someone told me Dragons lived at the foothills in Maryville Tennessee I
gave him that you're out of your mind look and went on about my day.
After hearing this rumor for the last 6 years, I decided to go to Maryville
with camera in hand and put an end to all this foolishness. My mindset
was to go and proove to the world that dragons do not exisit in this day
and time, and for any grown person to think otherwise is crazy.

My word alone would not be enough, so  I had to gather a team of
specialist to help dispel this myth. My team would include the great
minds and throttle wrist of Charlie, Allen, Sean, Chris, Hutch, Mack,
Ashcroft, and myself (Anthony). I know I can trust these guys, because
over the years we've done battle in different parts of the world, and each
time the've had my back. It was my first time going to battle with Mack
and Ashcroft, but they proved to be great warriors.

For this battle, I needed level headed soldiers who knew when to twist
the throttle, and when to apply the brakes. And above all else, I needed
people who knew there limits, because if the dragon did exisit, we would
have to call upon all our skills to make it home alive.

Needless to say, the myth was true, there is a dragon in the hills of
Tennessee, and we fought long and hard with it. Especially Charlie and
Allen, there tales told me  they had been within seconds of being bit by
the dragon. It's times like this when skill and level headed riding comes
into play. At the end of the day we all proved victorious in slaying the
dragon, and shall live to fight anothe day.

Winter is coming, and the eggs the dragon has layed will hatch and grow
waiting for cyclist and warriors to come battle. Watch out for the local
pawns because they are just as deadly, luring you in to battle knowing
every turn and crest of the dragon and wishing you to make a mistake.
Trust me when I say move over and let them pass, You're hear to battle
the dragon, not the locals. Remember it's there backyard and you're just
a weekend visitor.

Believe me when I say "THERE BE DRAGONS IN THEM HILLS"
The day started with Charlie and I meeting
up at a local gas station in Newport News
VA. The plan was to meet up and leave at
6am, but I was late. Normally this would not
be a problem, but we were meeting up with
the Woodbridge riders at 7:30 or so and
needless to say we had a lot of time to make
up so no pics at our first meeting poing. We
fueled the tanks, jumped on I-64 and headed
out for Gumshoe Springs which was 1.5
hours away.  Charlie and I were the first to
show so we took a breather and waited for
the rest of the soldiers. Within minutes
Charlie and I heard the roar of cycle engines
and started smiling, the battle was about to
begin.
Gumshoe Springs meeting point. Sean,
Chris, and Charlie going over battle  tactics
to be used once we engage the dragon
Allen ready to go and battle the Dragon. I've battled with him before in Germany and he's a great warrior.
He and Charlie are highly skilled in the art of war. With these two by my side, the dragon will surely fall.
After a long ride to get to the battle
ground(Maryville Tenessee), we had to eat,
drink, and rest for it was going to be a long
day. As we rested, more troopers were en-route
to aid us in our fight. Mack on the silver
ZZR-1200, Ashcroft on the Blue and Silver
Hayabusa, and Hutch on another Blue and
White GSX-R was on the way. They would
prove to be good soldiers for this battle, these
times called for good riders with calm heads.
Careless decisions around these parts would
mean your death.
Charlie, Allen, and Hutch take time out for a few jokes and laughter before we ride out for battle. When
the chips are down, these are the times you remember, telling stories and getting the bikes ready for battle.
